Glenn U asked:
I’m trying to write an article about lottery winnings. What happens after someone looks at their ticket and sees they are a big winner? We know there is a photoshoot and a large fake check, but what else? Tax forms before getting the money? etc… How can I find out?

I have been looking into different ways to invest my money. I considered stocks, real estate, or even a Certificate of Deposit. But then I heard about this lottery thing. Has anyone won the lottery out there, and if you did how’d ya do it?

Liggo asked:
Is there a protocol that could calculate every possible lottery line (all 13,983,816 of them) without writing or typing them out manually? Experts in excel required.
It was the simplest way to explain the method I need to replicate for future use, not for the lottery.

I heard the Irish Lottery is good because you only need to match three numbers to get £500. Are there any lotteries which offer winnings of around the £200,000 to 800,000 mark with much more realistic odds of winning than the National Lottery?

iheartshu asked: For example, Heart & Stroke Foundation and Princess Margaret Hospital sell lottery tickets for at least $100.00 each. Odds of winning are about 1/3 (luxury cars and homes, lump sums of cash). My question is, if you win the lump sum of money, is it expected that you will donate the money back to the cause?
Not that I’ve won or even played…I’m just curious what someone would do in that situation.

I recieved an e-mail stating I won a lottery and they are asking for a payment fee for services provided before the release of the check. I want to know if this company is legitimate before I send any money.

frigit asked:
If you sold a several hundred thousand dollar house, and used up all that money JUST to buy lottery tickets, to become a millionaire or billionaire. What would be your chances of winning?
NOTE: i am not planning on doing this so no need to tell me its crazy, its purely a hypothetical question

If the numbers are selected by computer it means that it is a special program which controls the action of computer in selecting of numbers. It is quite possible that computer can be programmed to select 6 or 7 numbers which were not scratched by players in order to boost a sale of tickets for the next draw by declaring “No Winner” of the first prize. Most of lotteries are controlled by Government who collects lots of money from the lotteries.
